Problem downloading to TP177A - fia MPI adapter

rahulplc Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	I have a TP 177A, winCC flexbile and a MPI adaptor. I can't download my HMI project in the TP 177A, with the help of MPI adopter .i am trying this for the last 15 days! can anyone help. regards,

Smurf Silver Member Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 10/24/2024 Posts: 414 Rating: (28)	Hi, So you're useing a so called PC Adapter well then you can not do a download via a direct connection between the panel and your PC. This is because the PC Adapter needs power from the device to program.For example aCPU has a powersupply in its programming port for feeding the PC Adapter. If you want to download your WinCC flexible project to the panel you have to be sure that the panel has an e.g. MPIconnection to the CPU and the PC Adapter isdirectly connected to the CPU (e.g. MPI). You can do this with use of a so called PG plug (6es7 972-0bb50-0xa0) where the MPI/Profibus connection is made to the panel and the programming cable can be plugged in as well.

In place of S7y i have TP 177A, fresh from the manufacturer and never been configured.Item 4, is also a bus connector with PG port.My laptop have a RS 232 port only, which is communicating well with the S7x( S7 CPU 314 in my case).In case of profibus cable i am using 2 wire of a 6 core screen cable.Under this connection, when i am clicking accessble nodes from Simatic manager, i can see my CPU node only and not the TP. When i am tring to download..i can't and giving a error message...check settings, ports,cable,etc.. Please help regards, Attachment mpi_network.zip (270 Downloads)

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I am not sure, but actually the Live-List should show the MPI Address of the Panel, if it is connected, power supplied and configured to MPI. It should show the Address 1, as far as I know. I would check the following: 1. Check the Baudrate, it should be set to 187,5 kBit/s. 2. Check the Dip Switch Settings on the Panel, it should be set to MPI. 3. Check the Addresses of the other nodes on the Network, maybe change the MPI Address of the Adaptor to 10 and the CPU to 12 and check the Live-List once again. If all that does not solve your problem contact Customer Support. Best regards J_Bell

rahulplc Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Thx to all. I have finally able to download my project to TP 177A. First i used a CP5612 card. later i can download also through MPI adoptor or the so called PC adopter. Even i can download when i kept the TP177A in a MPI network. regards
