Problem in PCS7 Server, Redundant Server Client configuration

adilmahsan Posts: 71 Rating: (2)	Hi I am trying to make a PCS7 server, redundant server, client conifiguration...the client works fine as long as the main server is in operation... bus as soon as it turns off, and the stand by server takes on the role of the main server, then inspite of connectivity, i am not able to switch pdls i.e. i'm not able to view any other picture... only the last picture that the client was on when the main server turned off is available with the redundant server... could anyone please tell me what the problem might be and how to resolve it thanks

Is redundancy working fine? can you give more info about how you configured the station? Reagrds

adilmahsan Posts: 71 Rating: (2)	thanks for the reply at first, the client did say that i didn't have the permission to access the standby server's folder, so i added guest folder and gave it all the authorizations and that is no longer an issue could you please tell me how to check whether the OS server data in the client station is in redundant mode? i did load the packet from my main server's project folder's packages folder following were my steps after hardware configuration and making the cfc and adding a picture 1. assigning destination folder path to load project data to for server, standby server and client, and making the standby server the standby server for the main server then checking that the main server is the master server for standby os in it's object propoerties 2. compiling os 3. assigning the client to the server (tried to make the project without it but to no avail) 4. again, compiling os 5. generating server data 6. checking server redudancy setting of server os in es

CBo Gold Member Joined: 4/5/2006 Last visit: 10/10/2024 Posts: 917 Rating: (63)	Hi adilmahsan , seems you did everything well....just 2 question: 1) did you create a new "Guest" User or "Administrator" User? you have to create User beloging to "Administrator" & "SIMATIC HMI" Group (with same name and same password). 2) when you assigned Server Data to client station, did you get it from folder in wincc project "...\winccon\"your OS"\"Eng station name"\Packages ? if yes., can you post logs file for all station? Regards

adilmahsan Posts: 71 Rating: (2)	thanks i think that's gonna solve it gonna try it tomorrow so, i'm assuming the user password and name has to be the same for all operator stations , and this user must be added in the simatic hmi group... right? also, could you please tell me whether or not it is necessary to assign an OS server to a client station? also, when i look at possible assignments, i see only the main server... i dont see the stand by server... so if i were to make an assignment, would it only be to the main server and the stand by one would get it automatically or do i have to do something else? thanks

CBo Gold Member Joined: 4/5/2006 Last visit: 10/10/2024 Posts: 917 Rating: (63)	Hi adilmahsan , 1) User had to belonging to "SIMATIC HMI"... 2) When you use Client with Project you NEED import servr data from OS Server (configuration done by Engineering Station) 3) ONLY "server data" from OS Server Master has to be import in OS Client, then check in OS client "server data" right click on "preffered server": you have to see both server staion name Regards
