problem when connecting this OMRON PRM21 to Siemens CPU315-2DP as slave

kk cheung Experienced Member Joined: 1/14/2006 Last visit: 2/14/2022 Posts: 37 Rating: (1)	john.mike I have the following configuration: - Master Profibus DP CJ1W-PRM21PLC OMRON - Slave Profibus Pushbutton panel PP17-ISIEMENS GSD : siem8065.gse V 1.1 - Slave Profibus SIMODRIVE 611U SIEMENS GSD : si02808f.gsd V 2.3 - Slave Profibus ET200M IM 153-1 SIEMENS GSD : siem801d.gsd V 1.25 I did not face any communication problem with PP17-I and 611U Simodrives . I did the setup and GSD file through OMRON CX-PROFIBUS software , and it works I can read and write data to these units but I could not get Data exchange with ET200M IM153-1 INTERFACEUNIT . ET200M : 6ES7 IM153-1AA03-0XB0 COMMUNICATION INTERFACE MODULE 6ES7 IM321-1BL00-0AA0 32 DIGITAL INPUT UNIT. DIAGNOSTIC indicates : 1- configuration fault . 2-station not ready. 3- reparameterization requested. NOTE :By the wayOMRON MASTER PROFIBUSis ASPC2 SIEMENSIC & IM153-1is SPC3 SIEMENS IC . Please advice me how to solve this problem , how to set the proper parameters and is there any other GSD file for 6ES7 IM153-1AA03-0XB0. Best regrads I am facing simmilar problem when connecting this OMRON PRM21 to SiemensCPU315-2DP as slave.(6ES7 315-2AG10-0AB0). When I changed to use a DP_DP coupler (6ES7 158-0AD00...), every bit zero exchanged between the two masters was set to 1. Splitted from PROBLEM WITH ET200 PROFIBUS COMMUNICATION.

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/15/2025 Posts: 12328 Rating: (2699)	Hello kk; Many here have used DP/DP couplers withiut much problems, it is generally a case of correctly setting up the coupler to each master line and configuring the amount and type of data to be exchanged between the two masters. Could you do screen captures of the setup with your S7-315 and your Omron masters, and aslo show us how the data arrives now, giving you a transmission error? With these we may help you further. fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 1/15/2025 Posts: 3029 Rating: (1058)	kk When I changed to use a DP_DP coupler (6ES7 158-0AD00...), every bit zero exchanged between the two masters was set to 1. Hello kk you say "every bit zero", but I wonder if you mean that only the first bit is ON every time. If so,please check the DIP switches of your DP/DP coupler and set the "DIA" (data validity indication) switch to OFF position (or do NOT use the first bit for user data). Have a look at chapter 4.2.2 of THIS manual for more on this subject. I hope this helps

I am going to check the Diagnose switch. In here I attached a few screen captures. For the PRM21 with CPU315-2DP as slave case, we had tried a set up with one CPU315 as master an the other as slave. It was the "diagnose" switch being set to 1 on the DP-DP coupler. However, I still do not know why PRM21 does not work with CPU315-2DP as slave. Regards, kk

I can confirm this works. CJ1W-PRM21 (master) + CPU315-2DP (slave) Here are the things to look out for. In the Siemens software, HW Config, DP Properties, Operating mode - The check box for "test, commissioning, routing" must NOT be checked. In the Siemens software, HW Config, DP Properties, configuration - The order of the I/O map IS important and must match the order in the I/O in CX-ConfiguratorFDT/CX-Profibus In the Omron software, slave configuration, the first three configured modules must be "1st general ID, 2nd general ID, 3rd general ID" Other than those, everything else is self-explanatory
