Problems with activate time

When I start running my project, the screens will appear immediately, but it takes a long time, before the colours of the object and the values of the I/O boxes are correctly.

Before, I had a lot of C script and messages that it cases a high system load.

So I took it all out, and made the colour changes of the objects with dynamic dialogs.

But it is still very slow. Some screens take more that 10 seconds to activate.

I use a CPU315-2DP and a CP card (Eternet).

The screens have about a 100 tags.

I use a “siematic s7 protocol suite” driver.

I already found out that the problem is caused because of the communication.

If I try to run it without the Eternet connection (unplug the cable), the screens activate very fast. (<1sec.)

Is it because off a the driver, or something else?

I bram have you seen if the update value of the tags is -Upon Change- this could be relevant.

And have got many archive tags, and what's the aquisition time?

Here are my answers to you’re questions.

1) I don’t now where I can find these log files

2) I use Wincc version 6.0 SP4

3) Pc: Intel Pentium CPU 3GHz, 512 RAM,42,2GB free disk space

4) The update value is linked to the picture cycle. I already tried to change it from 500ms to 5sec., but it has no influence.

5) I don’t have any archive tags jet

I shall try to set the update value to upon change en give you the results this afternoon.

You can only put the update value to upon change if you work with a “Tag” in stet of a “Dynamic dialog”. The problem is that most figures and object have several colours (tag = a byte). Because of that I have to use the dynamic dialog property.

Are there any tags accessing non-existing positions on the DB's?
