Processing a RTD input

Profimus Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	Hey, I have an appliciation with 2 RTD's (PT100's), one for measuring thetemperature and one for measuring the humidity. I'm using an 331-1KF01-0AB0 and have set the channels in the HW-config so that they measurePT100 standard signals. ButI don't really know what binaire input i'm going to get, for example what binaire signal can i expect when the temperature is 0 °C, with this temperature the resistance of the PT100 is 100 ohm. How does the analog card process the resistance? How does the resistance stand in relation to the binaire input? And is the binaire input bipolair or unipolair? I have to know theexact binaire input, for proccessing,byeach temperature/humidity. Measuring the relation of the temperature/humidity to the binaire input is not an option because the process isvery slow. *PS: with binaire input I mean the digitalized output of the ADC. dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/15/2025 Posts: 12328 Rating: (2699)	Hello Profimus; Look for the manual S7-300 Module data: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/8859629 Chapter 5 explains the different ranges and numerical representation of analog input modules with different measuring ranges. For evxample: for RTD modules, you will read 0,00 or 0,0 (depending on the specifics of your RTD) for 0 Celius; 130.00 for 130 degrees Celius; -25.00 for -25 degrees Celsius. If they are wired and configured properly. I don't think it should be too difficult. Chapter 6 gives details for each type of analog module for the S7-300, including wiring and configuration data.
