Hello, Basically isn't necessary to use repeaters and to have limit to 32 nodes in Profibus line. But this is recommended. To achieve speed of network plus "safety" of network. (RS485 Repeater, it strengthens data signals on bus cables and connects bus segments). Everything is cumming from descriptions for PROFIBUS (Process Field Bus) standard. |

Hello YogendraG because every device on the bus creates a load and affects the signal level. The 32 Node limit originated from the RS485 standard and was adopted by PI (Profibus International) for the Profibus Standardandyou are - in my humble oponion - well advised to adhereto thislimit! Note too that the 32 Node limit applies irrespective of the chosen baudrate(it's purelyabout Signal level and quality). You'll find a really nice andinformative Profibus online training course at the link below and I hope this helps: http://www.profibus.com/technology/profibus/web-training/ |
