Profibus problem with 342-5 and ET200S

Right now I have a 313C CPU with a 342-5 CP(6GK7 342-5DA02-0XE0, module version V5.7.3, hardware version 7) trying to contact three ET200S slaves (6ES7 151-1AA05-0AB0, that were configured from the DP V0 slaves folder and are set to DP V0). As the Siemens FAQ describes I am using DP_SEND and DP_RECV from the Simatic Net CP library. Those blocks are version 3.0. They are connected via OLM fiber optic modules and those modules do not give an error, also when we connected a profibus network analyzer in place of the CP the three slaves were reachable. In the NCM S7 Diagnostics I get the following information Profibus: Profibus status: Station in ring The nodes all appear in the list. The master (at address 2) is active and the three slaves (at addresses 3-5) are passive. The Operating mode of the CP342-5 is Run, S7 communication and DP master mode are also in run while FDL connections are in Stop mode. The Diagnostic buffer contains IO enable messages from the CPU and DP master messages, the data there fits the hardware configuration I have and there are no error messages. However the DP status of the DP master is Offline, with the cause “Waiting for start command of the CPU for polling” The DP mode is set to S7-Compatible. Each slave under the DP master has the same Diagnostics. “StationNonExistent” and “SlaveDeactivated”. The bus fault light flashes on both the master and the slaves. In the PLC program the DP_SEND and DP_RECV blocks give the same error message “80b0” which is “Module does not recognize the data record”. I’m not sure what that means, or even which module or which data record causes the error. (Is it the data block I’m writing to? is it the IO area on the CP? is it the data coming from the remote IOs?) I have a feeling that it’s something very basic and simple that I am missing. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

See Point 3 and 5. The Any pointer to specify the Send or Receive area, must be specified in BYTES. Perhaps it is possible to give us more information? Shanibi Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Thank you for that suggestion. But the blocks are already set up that way (at least I think so, there may still be something wrong with the pointer to the DB). I will post screenshots of the diagnostics and block calls this evening.

I’m not sure what that means .... Hi Shanibi, A reason for the error message '80b0', could be the wrong version of the blocks DP_Send and DP_Recv. (Well you have told you are using v3.0, which should be ok) Perhaps you can try to delete the blocks DP_send and DP_Recv. And insert them again from the library SIMATIC_NET_CP. Perhaps another try is to save your project with another name, using "Save As" and select the option 'With reorganisation slow' Best regards, Wizard

There you wrote C8(hex) that means 200 (dec) This isn't a typical one. Please check the address of the CP342 within the hardwareconfiguration. It isn't visable wihtin yourscreenshot.
