Replacing CPU 410-5H with the same model

Hello All,

I need to replace a CPU 410-5H (410-5HX08-0AB0) with the same model CPU including one system expansion card, the reason of change is to add an expansion card with 1000 PO for the new CPU and with the current one there is no chance to all any new Process Object.

Here is a similar configuration with what is existed within the site, is anyone able to help me how to do the replacement?

first a question: Why do you want to exchange the CPU?

If you just want more PO you do not have to exchange the CPU 410-5H. You can upgrade them online (from PCS 7 V8.1) with an Expansion Pack.

If you still have to exchange the CPU I would do the following:

1. Readback the Parameters
2. Book back PO from the old CPU.
3. Exchange the CPU
4. Load HWConfig/CFC/NetPRO

Actually the PCS7 is V8.0 and that is why I need to replace the CPU with another CPU, then I'd be able to send the older CPU and its SEC to Siemens then they can expand the POs. The problem I hav e is the newer CPU has a higher firmware, version 8.2.0, and that is one of reasons that I shared my question in this forum, I have two questions as per your comment:

1. Readback the Parameters, How can I do that?
2. Book back PO from the old CPU, How can I do that?
3. Do I need to do anything for the parameters and POs for the newer CPU?

The newer firmware version V8.2 of the CPU is compatible with the older firmware versions, so you do not have worry about this.
