RTD measurement with TIA and S7-1215c

Hi dear experts,

I have a probably easy problem for you, that unfortunately, its becomming frustrating to me.

In the past I put a simple controll to cool down the temperature of some metal plates in a process using RTD´s. Now have to upgrade the "cooling system" withthe S7-1215c CPU because of future expansion of the production line purposes.

I have used Logo before to measure temperatures from its RTD module.

In Logo the programming software, I have used the "Analog contactor"to input directly the temperature from the RTD module mounted in the Logo and, ok, that was pretty much straight forward and it worked fine.

Now I am trying to start the programming of the same control in the TIA Portal but forthe S7-1215c CPU, but:

1) Im new with this controller and software

2) I am confused, I dont find any analog contactors in the options that I see at the moment in the TIA portal where I can "read" my analog input, and I dont know how to proceed, I dont know too much about the controller or software.

I tried to use the "Contactor normally open" in the ladder programation and then drag the analog input from the RTD module hoping it could configure the analog input but Ithen I had a data incompatibility. It tells me that the "Word" type of the actual parameter does not match with the "Bool" type of the formal parameter. I know this cant work if they are not the same type but if I try to retype the tag of this contactor directly there, then its fixed to "Word", can´t change that. It should be Word type? or what should be the type of this parameter? Temperature information from RTD are word type?if yes,which contactor/element could I use to put it in the ladder program?

3) Regarding the comparation of the temperatures, I want to use to trigger a cooling device when the temperature is too hot hot. What would be the appropiate block or function to compare the temperature? in Logo I used directly an "Analog threshold trigger" that appeared there, but in TIA portal Im not sure which one to use, anything similar to that in Logo?? The availability of options is definitely better in the 1200, but now im a little unsure on which one to use

I hope someone of you can help me, I really am stuck in this simple thing. I attached a picture of my problem, hope it can also help a bit.

I will have a look to the options you comment on the PID and the in-out range ones and see what can I implement with that.

Last doubt that I have that might sound like a childs question but.. what do you mean when you say that I could read the valued in my user units (C/F) ?? what are those?
