Hi All, recently I received a backup of S5 file. The files have extension of "@s5d". For example OB1 is as OB1.@S5 . Anybody know about the s5editor which generates such files? Thanks in advance! |

Hi Naah, The '@' is usually used to pad out the file name to an 8 character file name. (TEST@@ST.S5D) Typically it is "Step 5" that produces files with an .S5D extension. Step 5 programming package is at a final release of V7.23 There are various file types within a 'complete' S5 project. ??????ST.S5DProgram file ??????Z0.INI Symbol file - used within the Step 5 editor ??????Z0.SEQ Assignment file, can be edited with care outside of Step 5 (excel for instance or imported into Step 7) ??????F1.INI is a footer file (80 char) -- (for printouts) ??????F2.INI is a footer file (132 char) -- (for printouts) ??????DR.INI is a printer file (it's easier to use S5PRINT though) ??????LS.INI Output file - used to dump code etc to a text file ??????AP.INI Path file# If however, you suspect the file is NOT of Step 5 origin, try opening it with notepad, and examine the first line, it may contain a clue to the package required, e.g. COM5430, COM 5431etc. The file may have been renamed and lost it's identity, some COM packages use the first character of the filename to identify the type (A) COM1430TF, (T) COM1430TCP. Hope this helps. Jester |
