S7-1200 Analog Output Module SB 1232-AQ 1 * 12bit LED Status

Dear Sir,

I am Siemens COE Trainer in Gujarat.

We are using S7-1200 PLC with Siemens SB 1232 AQ -1 * 12bit Analog Output Module.

I want to know what is purpose of LED which are given on this SB 1232 Module.

There is different 8 LEDs on module. So, kindly guide me or if possible to give manual for that.

Those are Diagnostics indication LED as you can see here.

Go into the properties of the signal board and activate the boxes:

• Enable overflow diagnostics
• Enable underflow diagnostics

Those are suppose to be check by default.

Then, you just have to test it by going under or over voltage.

Thank you very much for your Support.

I am agree with you that this LED for Diagnostics indication.

But I want to know that if I take

first LED : then what is indicate?

Second LED : 

Third LED :  

etc..

In that way i had to give information to trainee Engineer.

So, Sir please provide me this type of information.

Also find below attached photo. In that photo i can only change Short circuit diagnostics if it is use as voltage.

I Can't change overflow / under flow diagnostics.

There is actually only one LED on this Signal Board (SB). Typically most S7-1200 products have one DIAG LED per module and one STATUS LED per channel. Because this module is a single channel SB it has only one STATUS LED and no DIAG LED (the DIAG LED is provided by the CPU). The STATUS LED's provide status of only one channel. For multi-channel modules this aids in trouble shooting.

Overflow and Underflow diagnostics are not available on analog outputs only on analog inputs.

For voltage output mode a short circuit diagnostic is available.

For current output mode an broken wire diagnostic is available.
