S7 1200 connect to WINDOWS 7

I have selected the S7ONLINE (STEP7) option and the TCP/IP(auto) option as directed by your prior instructions. Still I am getting only one option when I am in the GO ONLINE window... the type of interface only lets me chose TeleService... nothing else. Still cannot go online with PLC.

lostaunau Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Something else that is catching my attention, Is it normal for a brand new PLC to show an ERROR and to have the BLINKING RED LED from the very first time is powered up? or could that has something to do with the problem I am having going online?

In one case, it might have been a version of Microsoft Office that they had to uninstall, and in another, they had to change the order they installed the portal when they also had step 7 installed. In one case, someone had to correct a firewall and/or antivirus setting. Odds for me are with microsoft office. I think if you uninstall office, uninstall portal, then reboot and reinstall portal, you will get your connection. Then you can install office. Just a guess though.

The PC that I am using is actually very light in S/W, It had been recently reformated in order to receive the SIMATIC S/W. I only have very basic programs that come with WINDOWS 7. Like I have explained at the beggining, We have a total of 8 PC and they were all WINDOWS 7, but someone said that STEP 7 was never going to work with that OS, and they downgraded the PC´s to WINDOWS XP thru VIRTUAL MACHINE. But I asked to keep at least just this ONE PC runing WINDOWS 7 because I am trusting what Siemens says, IT SHOULD BE ABLE TO RUN ON WINDOWS 7.

lostaunau Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	What is really agravating is that when I try to go online using the "go online" button the window opens up, but I do not get any messages of any kind. The window just sits there and do nothing. the only thing I can click is "type of the PG/PC interface" that only gives me "TeleService" option and right next to it "PG/PC interface" also giving me the same "TeleService" option. which I have no idea what is that for. Other than that, I cannot click any other field, except for "cancel" I wish the s/w could at lease flag me a message letting me know that I am doing something wrong but there is nothing!
