S7 1200 connect to WINDOWS 7

lostaunau Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I am afraid some members have been talking about this issue before, I have tried browsing through the history before bugging here, but I could not find exactly what I am looking for. I am trying to go online with a S7 1200 using STEP 7 Basic V11+SP2 and from the PC side I am using WINDOWS 7 Professional (32bit) and after checking the compatibility chart I can clearly see that they are both compatible. Here at work some people say that this is not possible, but I am trusting Siemens and I am trying to prove them wrong. They have in the meantime converted the PC´s (7 units) back to WINDOWS XP in order to make it work, but I thing that is not the right move. Please provide the required information to make this connection possible, So far I am only trying to make changes to the IP addresses from PLC and PC but looks like I am missing something. Please help. Thank you much in advance.

lostaunau Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Oh and I forgot to mention something, someone here asked me to "ping" the PLC from the PC and seems like there is plenty communication from PC to the PLC, cause all 4 packets were send successfully. I guess I am just missing the feedback from PLC.

Are you able to install the software properly?? What is IP address of your laptop?? (Keep particular address instead of automatic option.) What is ip address of your plc?? Hope you are trying communicate with PLC using ethernet cabe, so in TIA software, leftside you can see the online access shortcut, from there try to access PLC under your LAn driver of PC. If you could see the plc, by going online you can assign IP as you wanted.. regards VIPZ

I see that "online access" option that you refer, but I am actually not sure which on of the four options is the one that controls the ETHERNET port. (yes! I am trying to communicate using an Ethernet cable) Online Access shows -USB(S7USB) -COM(RS232/PPI multi-master cable) -Conexión de Red Gigabit Intel(R) 8256LM-3 -TeleService (Automatic protocol detection) Which one connects using the ethernet cable? the IP address for the PLC is set to 192.168.0.10 The IP address for the PC is set to 192.168.0.1 I am not using any settings for a SUBNET. since I do not know if I should use this or not. I also have PROFINET set to 192.168.0.10 ( I just did this to try but not sure if I should have done it) Lastly I have both SUBMASK set to 255.255.255.0 I really appreciate your help, thanks!! I will be around

lostaunau Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	ok. but one thing though. Whenever I hit the "go online" function, the connection windows pops up but it only shows one option under "Type of PG/PC interface" and that option is "TeleService" so I cannot chose any other type.
