I need three different modules for S71500. Kindly advise, if these are available:

Hello Lucky, I would use to exchange data with third-party equipment like: or http://www.anybus.com/products/prodindex.shtml http://www.anybus.com/products/products.asp?PID=305&ProdType=Anybus%20X-gateway I heard that Hilscher is better than HMS up to you. I tried HMS and it works well ( Profibus - Modbus ) , a short I will try also Hilscher but ( Profibus - CanOpen ). |

Hello Lucky; This is just to start the discussion. It is often difficult to compare modules from different automation systems, often the datasheets do not reflect every aspect of the differences between the 2. For example, the high-speed frequency measurement modules were designed by Rockwell to connect directly to Bently-Nevada vibration mponitoring sensors. See below. 1.- High-speed analog modle: 6ES7531-7NF10-0AB0: 8 AI channels; 62.5 microsecond update for complete module (independent of number of configured channels); 15 bit + sign resolution; 0.3% accuracy on voltage or current measurement… You have to decide if it meets the requirements. 2.- Frequency input modules (Rockwell:suitable for magnetic pickups @500 mVAC) The closest would be the 6ES7550-1AA00-0AB0: Technology module: 2 high-speed counter/encoder channels, 24 VDC inputs; frequency measurement at 800 kHz max; 4 digital outputs (2 per channel, 24 VDC, 0.5 A). Unfortunately the magnetic pickups of the Bently-Nevada system are producing a signal of 500 mVAC/50mVAC.. 3.- Profinet to DeviceNet Gateway: There is no direct connectivity between a S7-1500 CPU to DeviceNet. You would need some sort of gateway, such as: http://www.anybus.com/products/products.asp?PID=305&ProdType=Anybus%20X-gateway Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Daniel, As always, thank you so much. I shall review and get back with more questions.
