Hello Oscar; You are right, if you need to communciate with A RS-485 Modbus RTU slave with a S7-300 Modbus RTU master, you will need: - a CP 341 serial module with a RS-485 interface:
- a Modbus RTU loadable driver for CP 341 or CP 441-2:
SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 Loadable Driver for Point-to-Point CPs: MODBUS protocol, RTU format, S7 is master Modbus is not native to S7 PLCs, so the S7 functions FC7/FC8 used with the loadable driver are actually translating S7 addresses to Modbus addresses for communications over Modbus. So please study the Modbus descriptions in the manual closely, and then determine (with the Modbus mapping of the Pac3100) what data you want to collect, how many registers you will request, and what type of Modbus function is required,so you can prepare Modbus jobs in the S7 program. The forum can also try to help you out when you have more specific questions. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
