SIMATIC SD card

Sebastian.g Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Where can i purchase the SIMATIC SD memory card? In my new application i use AS-interface therfore i need the module (CM1243-5or do i need CM1243-2? When searching in various sites this has been really confusing) and i need to upgrade the firmware. I already learned that i need to purchase a simatec sd card for that, but i already have a sd card. I dont really understand what so special with the simatec sd card, isnt it possible to format my sd card and add some files to it or something? I've never programmed with AS-Interface before but im going to tackle that problem when it comes.

FreakOnALeash Posts: 267 Rating: (24)	Hello, for AS-i communication with the S7-1200 you need the AS-i Master CM 1243-2 (3RK7243-2AA30-0XB0): http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/43416171 and you needa AS-i power supply: e.g. DCM 1271 (3RK7271-1AA30-0AA0): http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/43416176 sorry, for a firmware update you need the S7 MEMORY CARD, 24 MB(6ES7954-8LF00-0AA0): http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/34983889 there is no way to format a SD card for it!

The developer teamalread knows thatthe customers desire to upgrade the firmware by download.
