SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES

HI TO ALL

WE ARE USING SIMOVERT DRIVE  6SE70272ED61 AND ITS CONNECTED WITH 34kw MOTOR AND BRAKING RESISTOR UNIT 6SE70232EA87-2DA0 . WHEN WE SWITCH ON THE DRIVE IMMIDIATE LY THE BUFFER CARDS - RESISTERS GOT BURNED IN THE DRIVE .

WE REPLACED THE DRIVE WITH NEW DRIVE AND SWITCHED ON THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEND AGAIN BUT IMMIDIATELY WE SWITCH OFF THE DRIVE AND CHECKED THE DRIVE .THE SAME BUFFER RELAY CARDS RESISTOR GOT HEATED .

WE REMOVED THE BREAKING CONTROL UNIT AND POWER UP THE UNIT IT IS WORKING .

BUT IF WE SITCH ON THE DRIVE THE RUNNING FREQUANCY IS NOT SHOWING IN THE DRIVE.

PLEASE ADVICE RESISTROR CONTROL UNIT AND RESISTOR MAY FOULTY ?

how TO CHECK THE BREAKING RESISTOR AND CONTROLLER ?

Hello,

Can you attach the snap shot of burnt resistor along with its card? Can you find out which is that card? 

What is the application?

When you replaced drive, how parameters are loaded? i.e. do you carry out quick commissioning or simply loaded parameter back up & switched on power? 

In both cases, have you conducted power module/motor identification?

Please confirm.

P. S. - Please check braking resistor value individually by mulimeter & report here along with braking resistor nos, connection type, etc. etc. i.e. series or parallel? Snap shot of braking resistor module will be much better.

Please find the attached buffer card resistor which burned in our old simovert drive 

we fixed the old units CUVC card in new unit and switch on the unit  

i will check the resister value and ubdate soon

breaking resistor measured value is : 24 OHM

6SE7023-2ES87-2DC0 braking resistor value which you measured is OK, since its designed value is 20 ohm.

BTW is it water cooled unit? Have you checked any lekage in cooling system, short circuit at output or across DC bus? Please check drive. motor, supply cable, brake unit with supply cable IR value.
