Sinamics G130 12 pulse system

Manoj R Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	We have G130 drive which is configured on 12 pulse. We have observed that the neutral of star winding is kept floating and not grounded. I wanted to know that why the neutral is kept floating in such configuration and what will happen if we ground the neutral. Thank you :)

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 3/29/2023 Posts: 5467 Rating: (736)	Dear Manoj R The 12 pulse rectifier circuit exist of two 6 pulse rectifiers which voltages needs being shiftet for 30°. The simpliest way doing it is by making a three winding transformer, which secondary sides connected one in Y and the other in Delta. The delta cannot be grounded sensefuly, hence the Y windings arent grounded as well. So the total system is isolated and an isolation monitoring is requred!
