 you problem is not 'Toolbox" issue. but communication.

You did not mention what is you PG or PC with SIMATIC Manager (STEP7).BUT I think you use PC.

you need post picture of your PC, (and check if PC have PCIA card slot) 

I think you cannot use PC adaptor you need use CP5512 kit. as these kind of HW discontinued

Greetings. I am Dusan from Serbia. I am currently working on commissioning a used CNC lathe with a Sinumerik 810D controller. I have some malfunctions, but I can't determine what causes them without looking at the PLC program. I tried to connect to the Step7 through the MPI port on the 810D CPU. I connected an external 24V power supply to the MPI adapter 6ES7972-0CB20-0XA0. Step7 doesn't see it, I guess because it doesn't have Toolbox for 810D. I would like your help with this. I also have a FlopyDisc from the machine with files: VSA.IBN, PLC.IBN; NCK.IBN , HSA.IBN , ANZ.IBN and DATA.MSD. If there is a PLC program here, what needs to be opened in Step7. Thank you.

 How about you communication between PC SIMATIC Manager to 810D PLC CPU? --you did not provide update? in the words.  if you want to get remote help you need follow the suggestion.

you add ext DC24V it is another way save money -BUT it is very risky to damager you 810D,

 time is money-- if you want to make things easy. just purchase CP5512 and you will no more questions

What interests me is to find the PLC program (ladder diagram) so that I can analyze the program to determine the cause of the alarm reported by the machine. If you have a way to do this I would appreciate it if you could share it with me.
