step 5 refuses to switch in online mode

Hocinov Regular Member Joined: 11/10/2010 Last visit: 12/3/2023 Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Hi all, i have problem with step 5 which refuses to switch in online mode.I have proceeded to reinstall step 5 but it is the same situation.The message is " time out" or alarm 0334 with all the ports.I have a PG P4 with ibox.The serial port Db9 on ibox works.Please help. Splitted from s5 .

I have not the Restore button in the device manager.I can not execute this.I have not W XP but W 2000 professional.The message 0334 remains and i don't know how to do!I need always help to access the online mode with Step 5!

Hocinov Regular Member Joined: 11/10/2010 Last visit: 12/3/2023 Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Hello, the cpu is 941B and it is ok.When i utilize COM1,the message is 0334 ,with Com2 or others ports the message is" time over".The S5 soft works normally in offline mode.THe PG P4 is under Windows 2000 and i can not execute the Restore function with device manager.The problem, i think,is the PG don't recognize the TTY port or the AG port,Why ?I don't know.I have proceeded to reinstall S5 at many times but the disfunction remains the same (Message 0334).The drivers are included by setup!?Please help,i need to resolve this issue. Simaticus Bronze Member Joined: 1/30/2007 Last visit: 6/3/2022 Posts: 262 Rating: (24)	Dear Hocinov, msg 0334 means Step5 can't find the interface hardware in the pg either because it's defective or it is already used by another software and thus reserved in Win. This may be an sync software for palms, mobile phones or similar. As soon as you receive a timeout msg we can be sure the interface inside the pg is working. Pls note that only Com1 of the pg provides a 20 mA current loop interface to connect to a S5 plc. If you want to use another com interface you need to use a rs232-tty-interface adapter. Pls check the settings of your interface in Step5. Did you power off the cpu to make sure the internal interface controller had been cold restartet? Good luck
