The second module in rack doesn't work

PetrNowak Experienced Member Joined: 8/3/2021 Last visit: 5/27/2023 Posts: 104 Rating: (3)	HW configuration: - S7 1200 CPU - 1x 16DI/16DQ - 1x 16DI/16DQ (both DIO modules are 6ES7 223-1PL32-0XB0 - FW V2.0) The last modul is connected directly OR connected by bus extension cable (we have tested both variants). Both DI/DQ modules was switched in between during testing. SW configuration: Simple empty project. Only copying clock 0,5Hz to some outputs of DI/DQ modules. The second DI/DQ module always doesn't work (output is not set and inputs don't pass to program although we see inputs LEDs lights when connecting signal to inputs). And its DIAG green LED blinks. Its the same for all four variants (with/without extension cable; switched modules). Project and photo of hardware enclosed. It's weird behaviour and I don't absolutly have any idea whats the problem... Attachment Test.zip (131 Downloads)

Mr.V Silver Member Joined: 6/19/2019 Last visit: 5/15/2023 Posts: 581 Rating: (61)	Everything looks fine in your project maybe right mouse click on project PLC_1[CPU 1215 DC/DC/Rly], then choose Compile>>Hardware (Rebuild all) later Software (Rebuild all) and then download to PLC, If this not help check wiring to your blinking module or check connector or it's connected

It wasn't done correctly first time probably. When downloading again (in offline !!!) system starts to behave normally and the second module works.

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 5/23/2023 Posts: 13339 Rating: (2180)	If you do not right-click ON THE PLC in the project tree and select the download hardware option, the hardware is not updated unless you are offline and happen to select the correct command (by luck rather than intent). PetrNowak Problem solved. Thanks for your help !!! It was something with Downloading HW configuration. It wasn't done correctly first time probably. When downloading again (in offline !!!) system starts to behave normally and the second module works.
