Total Memory Bits Use in Simatic S7

Dear Expert,

i am trying to figure out the concept of memory bits or memory flags what we say.

how many memory bits for specific CPU we can use to make the program and second if we use memory card in cpu it also increase the memory bits call in the system or what . 

this is the data relevant to CPU 315 2pn/dp

In short:

● Number, max. 2 048 byte : From M 0.0 to M 2047.7

● Number of clock memories 8; 1 memory byte : 

To do this go to Hardware configuration then --> CPU properties then

cycle/clock memories  then --> Clock memory.  Enable  this and define a number of memory byte as you like.

and second if we use memory card in cpu it also increase the memory bits:

No the memory bits remain same

If you think you realy need more than 2048 bytes of memory then you should start using datablocks

You can also use local memory ( size to be set in hardware configuration) which is 'local' to the block itself.
