Trying to read string from plc.

I still could not do it. I am trying to read string  from plc. I get the tags with json. String variables are written with symbols. For example, string variable in plc 'ready' is written as 'ready' .

json html code is

"text"  :  ":="data".string:",

"counter" : ":="data".counter:"

}

script code is

Yes, I read the examples. Optimized block access is ticked for the DB. But the examples about string variables is done by refreshing html page. I want to implement the code with JSON. I can display the string with the code:

:="data".string:

The result is of the code is

'ready'

 However, when I use getJSON code, the result is

'ready'

 Want to know why the results are different and how to correct it?

 I am not able to display string variables. I can get int, bool without problem but string variables are displayed with symbols before and after the <variable content>. Did you experience the same problem?

I guess the symbols are encoded characters which can be decoded du regular character by using a simple function:

that's what Bastian already said, it's HTML encoding :-)
Use the tow posted methods to rework that strings bevore u insert it into the HTML element :-)

I found the solution. I replaced the code below

$('#text').text(data.text);

with the code below

$('#text').html(data.text);

Works fine.

$('#text').html(data.text);

 Works fine.

That's of course the easiest way :-)
Take care that this method just works if you don't want to process the values further with java script.
If you just want like to display the string in an HTML Tag that's of course an easy thing to use inner Html - if you look into my previous posted functions it uses a similar way ;-)
