USB PC Adapter & TP177A download

Beep-A Posts: 90 Rating: (1)	Hi people! We need to upgrade one S7-314 + TP177A system that was installed in 2009. The problem is that now I have WinCCflexible installed in Virtual PC environment on Win7 64bit, where is not possible to use the PC/PPI multimaster cable for download. We have the USB PC adapter (6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0) – it works with Virtual PC. My concern is the following – Is it possible to transfer the new program to the TP177A with direct connection: PC –> USB PC Adapter –> TP177A ? I checked the forum but I didn't find the straight answer… The problem is that the panel is installed on site and I don’t have the opportunities to test it in the office before commissioning Thank you in advance for your answers. Hi Marcjan - thank you for your answer. the PC adapter is working with VM - I can download to CPU-S7 (tested)through STEP 7. An XP machine is not an option for now... I checked the mentioned FAQ, but I would like a user-experience with this situation. Kind regards, Beep

Pretty hard to do. If Siemens does not support VM configurations, how can we users give you a solution that works. Try and find out, and be verry sorry you threw away your XP machine Regards, Marcjan

I went to the plant with the TP177A panel and succeed to download the new application from WinCCflexible 2008 with the USB PC Adapter. The WinCCflexible was running on Virtual XP & Win 7, 64bit !
