Hello PLCflash: I would recommend doing a frequency response analysis of the system (servo mode), here some current filter can be set in order avoiding resonances and making higher amplifying gains. The link to “Evaluation of the external moment of inertia to the motor moment of inertia ratio” gives a first overview about the idea:https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/79684499 The function manual FH1 explains something abut also in section 4.10https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109740020 At least the amplifying factor has to be adapted as function to the moment of inertia. This must not be a linear graph, this might be a convex curve also. Therefor the free /open speed controller adaption can be used. Please find section 4.3.2 in the above mentioned FH1. |

Dear Experts In our application also, we had the similar variable inertia for the particular axis. We used to adjust the speed controller gain and I time to a moderate value to take care of all range of inertia. But it has been observed, when we carry out automatic controller setting, system automatically adjusting Speed controller gain and Tn value and sets the required current filter also. But it can not be left with this value due to change in inertia for different jobs. Is there any possibilities to execute automatic controller settings from operator screen (KTP 700) ? By having this, we can educate the operators to do this process after any mass change over in the particular axes. We can give copy RAM to ROM button in HMI to save the values in memory. Kindly suggest the possible methods to execute automatic controller setting from operator panel. It is very difficult to adapt P 1455 due to different mass coupled to motor at different instances.
