VFD to minimize starting current

Its has a siemens 500kw motor that has a high starting current. Is there anyone who has installed a VFD to minimize starting current? is the VFD is recommended for this compressor? Please Let me know. The motor nameplate attached. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from Which is best option for screw compressor drive. Jeff Casagrande Posts: 1529 Rating: (202)	Talk to your local Siemens partner. A VFD would work fine to reduce your starting current but, if you don't need to change speed, it is probably better (and certainly cheaper) to simply use a soft starter.
