What is different between modbus with CP341 and 1SSI module from ET-200S (6ES7 138-4DF11-0AB0)

duy_np Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	Dear Expert, Now I have project with 10 station of remote I/O with 20 modbus RTU device on every remote I/O station(Master PLC is CPU317). In my understand, we have two solution here 1. Use remote I/O with ET200M+CP341+modbus master license 2. Use remote I/O with ET200S+1SSI modbus module Our system is only 60 I/O so I think I use remote I/O with ET-200S is better and low cost but I don't know what is different between modbus module CP341 and 1SSI what is better (safety, faster, easy to config. . .) Pls help me.

Both the CP 341 (RS 485) and the 1SI can support up to 32 remote slaves, and the blocks for send/recieve on the Modbus protocol are very similar. Look at the following article exolaining the differences between the platforms: Which hardware and software components do you need to establish communication between SIMATIC S7 stations and third-party devices using the MODBUS RTU protocol? The most evidentdifference is that with each CP 341 you will need to purchase the dongle and license for the loadable driver Modbus RTU, while with the 1SI the Modbus RTU functions are available and downloadable. duy_np Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	Hi dchartier, My modbus device is from many supplier such as PAC3100 (Siemens), UPS, PM710 (Schneider) and all of them is modbus RTU. How about is transmittion speed between CP341 and 1SI ? because I can see on data sheet CP341 is only 16 byte but 1SI is 32 byte. Furthermore, CP341 can apply to modbus RTU or modbus ASCII depend on license we buy, is it ?? but 1SI is only support modbus RTU, is it As you said, Technical between CP341 and 1SI is the same (can connect to 32 device modbus RTU) but I don't know why and when we use CP341 while 1SI is cheaper and the same technical, Pls explain me this ??
