According to this FAQ, there is a workaround by additionally

an I/O field linked to the process variable to be changed or

a script that calls the function Tags("Variable name").Read() or Tags("myTag").Write(Tags("myTag").Read(1) | 8) instead of SetBitInTag("myTag", 3) executes

Unfortunately, the first possible solution does not work with the Unified Comfort Panels V17.0.0.1. Please use the second solution with the script for the Unified Comfort Panels. Improved behavior is planned for V18!
