WinCC as opc da client and two opc da server

Hi everyone,

I have a PCS7 9.0 system, and two redundant WinCC servers.

WinCC as opc da client shall communicate with with two redundant opc da servers.

This is the network:

WinCC_a          WinCC b

     |____________|

     |                        |

Opc server a       Opc server b

So, if i declare one communication opc node for each server, in my database i'll have two different variables for each measure, and i should put in both in the hmi, but customer wants only one variable indipendent from who's the opc server will be active.

My idea was a script with a selector to decide wich server has to be the master, but i would ask you if a better solution exists to manage the servers.

thanks for you tip, however, i've read some manuals but i didn't found how to configure opn pcs7 as da client.

Do you have some evidence of that?

I will suggest to use Pcs 7 OpenPCS7 , reliable and proven in use. All my projects are using it.

My apologies. 

In this case, i have few suggestions. Google search the below keyword

1. Cogent Datahub opc ua/da tunneller + redundancy. this allow u to install in os server as a 3rd party tool, connect to opc da server externally and change two opc da server connection to redundant. 

2. KepserverEx + redundant
