WinCC Comfort (TIA Portal) for SIMATIC TP1200

wilson chiu Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I want to use SIMATIC TP1200 and have checked on Siemens website saying that the configuration software is "WinCC Comfort (TIA Portal) or hgher". Kindly want to know: 1. Can i used WinCC Flexible on TP1200? 2. If I know how to use WinCC Flexible, do I have difficulties of using WinCC Comfort? 3. What is the pros and cons of using WinCC Comfort instead of WinCC flexible? thanks guys~ :)

They are not aviable in WinCC flexible. 2.) The "working" with the TIA Portal is comparably to WinCC flexible. The layout is similar to WinCC flexible and it is easy to work with TIA if you knew WinCC flexible. Maybe you first order a demo version and try WinCC TIA Portal: Trial DVD TIA-Portal STEP 7 Professional & WinCC Advanced Order number: 6ZB5310-0PY02-2FA1 Trial DVD TIA-Portal STEP 7 Professional & WinCC Professional Order number: 6ZB5310-0QA02-2FA1 3.) In my mind the pro are that you don`t need so many different installations at the pc. You just need one installation (WinCC TIA Portal, Step7 TIA Portal) and in this case you have just to maintain one software in case of many single software version. Sure there are also some cons, but it i work gladly with WinCC TIA Portal. best regards

I have a similar question about wincc comfort. i have a project iclude S7-300, S7-400 CPU and TP1200. what kind of softwares i should to install? using step7 is my priority instead of using TIA portal. but please help me about both solution. Best regards Hello, depends which S7-400/S7-300 you have exactly: 1.) Use Step7 V5.5 + WinCC Comfort -> here you work with a proxy in WinCC which sync the Symbol information from PLC to TIA 2.) Use Step7 Professional V14 + WinCC Comfort V14, migrate the complete project in TIA and work in TIA with PLC + HMI. Regards Christoph
