WinCC Professional RT evaluating PLC connection status

I'm trying to develop an application actually running on WinCC v7 into the new WinCC Professional V12 system by the way having some problems regarding the diagnosis of the connection status with the PLC. Actually I'm trying to setup a test system in a Simatic PC station with WinAC RTX and WinCC Professional V12 RT managing the project with my usual ES. In the tag editor of WinCC v7 I was usually able to create certain external tags like @[Connection Name]@ConnectionStatus to evaluate the connection status code you can also see in the WinCC Channel Diagnostics tool without any address specified in the tag. But now in the V12 variables I can't do the same thing cause I can't leave the address field blank. Anyway, the question is ... How can I check the connection status during RT in WinCC Professional V12 ? There's somewhere the possibility to check the connection status code I need for my application ? Best regards

I need a detiled diagnostic information to understand what really happens within the Scada and the controller. Nowadays I can say many causes of communication failures with the tag @ConnectionStatus but I cant do the same by System events in V12. Any other suggestions ? Thanks so much.

Franky4Fingers Regular Member Joined: 8/9/2012 Last visit: 2/1/2023 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hi there, of course I saw it but in this case is not really usefull cause I need to set some tags values in relation to the PLC connection status. ex. with the tag named @[Connection Name]@ConnectionStatus I can set an alarm when the value is 4022 that means that another network element have the same address of the CPU, in other case when the value is 7001 I can set an alarm that the CPU is in STOP mode and maybe sending infomation to the customer by a gsm modem or by email or something not depending by the CPU. I think that this functionality is not included in V12 and maybe I have to wait to migrate from WinCC V7 or maybe that functionality is very hidden and reserved so it's very difficult to find it :D Best regards
