WinCC tray icon with red tip means?

cmagnus9 Regular Member Joined: 10/29/2015 Last visit: 8/30/2022 Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	Hello, Does anyone know what might be wrong when the WinCC icon in the tray gets a red tip instead of green (see attached image)? It got red after I did a complete download to the server from the engineering station. The server's redundant partner is not red (it´s green like it suppose to). My setup looks like this: At the server pair, it is wincc 7.3 upd11 and windows server 2008 R2 standard. The server pair also has a separate CP1623 card installed that manages the communication. The engine station has Windows 7 with WinCC 7.3 upd11. Any tips? Sincerely cmagnus9 Attachment red.JPG (479 Downloads)

Check WinCC diagnosis folder for some errors. Try to restart PC. Try to execute "reset_wincc.vbs" script Hope one of that will help.

Usualy that red icon in tray appears when there are any problems with SQL Server. Probably computer name was changed? What is about point No.4?

Serarch Tray Check internal Tag @RedundantServerState It displays the redundancy status of the server: 0: Undefined status or start value 1: Server is "Master" 2: Server is "Standby" 3: Server is "Fault" 4: Server is standalone or no redundant operation Reason for Status Fault are 1. What is about point No.4? No, unfortunately, system alarm messages are not configured. Yes, I see that it distinguishes between the SQL servers between them. They show completely different active alarms while my other server pairs that work shows the same alarms. The computer name has not been changed. Now I've tried to delete the entire project folder on both servers and downloaded the project from the engineering station, but I still get the same problem. Which of the files in the diagnostics folder should I look in and what should I look for? //cmagnus9

Or is it your first start of these servers? If it worked fine before, I would try to reset ES project as described in this FAQ. After that delete all projects from servers and perform download entire project from ES. If it is just first commissioning - let us know redundancy settings, Simatic Shell settings, values of redundancy system tags used for diagnosis? In diagnostic folder, I would pay attention on some unusual error messages throughout all the files. Unfortunately, I do not know exact meaning of all files there.

I also tried to download a previous version of the project where this problem has not existed before, but the result was the same now. I have 64 different log files in the diagnostics folder and most have some type of error in themselves (however, those errors have existed before when the project has worked).
