WinCC V6 upgrade

Mehrnoosh Posts: 102 Rating: (9)	Dear friends Recently I have upgraded a WinCC V5 to V6SP3 ( I bought an upgrade license). We have some WinCC V6 (SP1 & SP2) in other places. Is it possible to use the same CD with old licenses ( V6 SP1,2) to upgrade them or I have to ask an upgrade for each one? Regards Mehrnoosh

TsVas Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	You don't have to buy a new license to upgrade to SP4 (or SP3) of WinCC v6. The only reason to buy an upgrade license is that you have version 5 or earlier of WinCC. Otherwise when a new SP or Hot Fix is announced you can order it for free from Siemens and install it to all of your machines.

Nemo Posts: 3149 Rating: (171)	Hello TSVAS, you are right - an upgrade license is only needed if you are e.g. going from V5 to V6. Upgrading V6.0 SP3 to V6.0 SP4 of course is for free, sorry if this didn´t turn out clearly. nemo
