winn cc 7.0 sp3

Hello all ,

our plant have a win cc a project but after the hard drive is broken I have the project now on the cd with the win cc setup but I don't know what I do to install the project and connect it with the plc of the plant I red many tutorial and books but I miss what should I do all did I installed win cc and then start win cc explore to run the old project . the old project run but not connected please can you help me step by step what should I do . ? note that I don't know the plc module and the plc connected with ethernet cable . with notification undefined network on the pc the project on the c drive and I transferred the license key to c drive too now not demo mode active mode but not connected waiting your help

You have a copy of the WinCC program on the CD? You have copied it (without the read-only attribute installed automatically on the CD support) and opened it with the WinCC Explorer. 

You should receive an error message due to the fact that the computer name of your new PC is not registered in the project. See the following FAQ on the subject:

Depending on how the files were backed-up to the CD (using Project Duplicator or not), the Runtime values and data might not be saved in your existing project.

but what then …… how I can connect the project and run it …. do I need any configuration in the plc unit by any softwear , ….. what I do to run the project after connect what softwear I need and what the stepes

I understood you had an existing project on CD that you were restoring to a new installation of WinCC v7.0.

What you are asking now sounds like you want to create a complete new project, create a Channel in WinCC to a specific PLC over a specific communication network, create Tags connecting to registers in the CPU, plan screens to show and control your process, setup alarms, trends, messages... Is this what you need to do?

I suggest you start by looking at the Getting Started manual for WinCC v7.0, it gives a typical project development, with the different editors to use for each step. You can use it as a template for your own project.

If you don't take the time to explain your problems correctly and in detail  it will be difficult to help you.

If your project backup was up to date and the restore function worked correctly, and the proper licenses are installed on the new PC, all you should have to do was to change the computer_ name in your project (see my first post), connect to your PLC with the adequate cable and interface and launch the runtime.

You say all you see is "pictures". Where, in the Graphics Designer editor? What about the Tags editor, do you have any tags created to connect to a PLC? What Channel has been configured ( look especially in the S7 Protocol Suite for Profibus or Ethernet connections to a S7 PLC).

Let's start with that, take screenshots of what you find in the restored project. And remember that depending on how the project was backed up to the CD you might be missing important files for the WinCC project.

srry of my poor knowledge of win cc but its not backup its the cd of the project the cd contain the files of the project when its designed and run for the first time so I install win cc and import the existed project to drive c and then run time in the runtime mode screen just pictures with yellow alarms in all photos I though no connect configuration maybe I need pg/pc software or some thing like that I don't know where I find it to can note that the connection between plc and pc is Ethernet cable  the network in the network internet settings in windows is undefined network with yellow sign

I succeed  to connect the project with plc via tcp ip  with ethernet after read some tutorial  

I have bad knowledge of win cc when the project is run at  the first time no temperatures or can control with any object  with many alarms   after I selects rest the plc to default numbers the temperatures  showed and many alarms . the frist problem is this project contain button name is primary sequence and secondary sequence when the operator select start  primary or secondary sequence the program start and all equipment start in sequence this button not available now I don't know this problem with the plc or the project

You have to check both the HMI and the pLC programs.

First, what functions are configured in your HMI button?

Normally I would expect the button to have  a "Set bit on mouse press" and a "Reset bit on mouse release" to activate a single bit in the PLC. Next in the PLC I expect that bit to launch (or stop) the sequence (Primary or Secondary, as you need) .

Tell us what you find. Better still, send us a screenshot or two...
