wire breakage monitoring in S120

And if I can't monitor the digital inputs what do you recommend to pervent faulty in emergency stop. best regards Ali ALKARN

What I'm facing is that the emergency stop button should be monitored in case of short circuit or open circuit to prevent false stop or emergency stop failure. Do you mean short circuit or wire breakage between Sinamics and motor? If so, then Sinamics goes to stop and triggers fault. What should this emergency button do?

kriipc Silver Member Joined: 4/11/2011 Last visit: 4/11/2023 Posts: 132 Rating: (7)	Emergency stop circuit is usualy hardwired closed loop of switches with normaly closed contacts. Meaning of emergency stop circuit is stopping drive always when wire breakage is present. What you want is just "Stop" button with triggering conditions. But this is not "Emergency stop".

ali alkarn Experienced Member Joined: 4/3/2014 Last visit: 9/9/2022 Posts: 54 Rating: (0)	Dear kriipc, What you are saying is right in normal conditions but my application is in a vessel "marine" so they have special rules that I have to follow and the emergency stop button is a good example. They don't want the ship in wire break state to stop that why we have to monitor the wire. Any way I think using CU320 or TM31 I can't monitor digital inputs so I'll use special equipment it can do that. Best regards Ali ALKARN
