wrong system time in cpu

Hello allen1, Where did you set the time at first? is it at the HMI or at the PLC? and What time synchronization method do you use? through area pointer or only tags?

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 11/8/2024 Posts: 15388 Rating: (2443)	When you say the wrong system time in the cpu, do you mean wrong local time or wrong time compared to UTC (system time)? If the HMI and PLC do not have the same time configurations, you can see this type of effect. The time you set in the hmi may need to be offset the proper number of hours for the plc local time to properly reflect what you want, depending on how things are configured.

Is it correct minutes but time zone is wrong? Is time zone right but minutes are different between PLC & HMI? Is time zone (meaning the hour) correct but minutes are drifting one or the other compared to real time? If you have your PLC on a network with anetwork time server that your plc or hmi can use for time updates, you can keep them closer to real time automatically. If you are like me, you keep the plc and hmi off any network connected to the internet so that might not work for you.

Hello allen1, Check if you are using the WRITE RTC instruction multiple times in your program or else check the HMI set time once this problem occurs and update the status here. So that we can diagnose the issue.
