Field PG M5 - Windows 7 or Windows 10

Hello,

I want to buy a programmer Field PG M5, but I can not decide with which operating system: windows 7 or Windows 10 ????

I want to buy Field PG Advanced with S5 interface and Step 7 prof. combo and WinCC Advanced combo.

Because Windows 10 is a new operating system, I'm afraid that some of the older Siemens applications may not work well, eg WinCC flexible 2018, or Step5, or classic Step 7 (not TIA).

Can I take Windos 10, or would it be better to take Windows 7 ???

When you want to use Field PG M5 in combination with Step 5, you will have to choose Windows 7.

It is better to use Windows 7 because you can't install step7 v5.x and wincc flexible 2008, even Tia portal v13 with Windows 10.

this is not correct.

Step7 V5.6 is released for Win10, WinCC flexible 2008 SP5 is released for Windows 10, TIA V13 SP2 is released for Windows 10.

I suppose he means Step5 v5.x and not Step7 v5.x.

last version this softwares are compatible with Win10 and are already installed in Field PG M5:

TIA portal (Step7, winCC Adv/Pro)

Step7 v5.x

WinCC Flex 2008 SP5

Step5 v5.x is compatible only with WinXP. 

It is compatible with Win7, ONLY if you buy a Field PG M5 with the right option and Win7 as Operating System.
