Hi ChrisEmi, when using a SIMATIC S7-1500 software controller, it does not matter whether the PC supports virtualization or not. Since the real-time concept is based on virtualization, the PC should support it. But since the Windows operating system runs virtualized by the Siemens hypervisor, the hypervisor limits your possibilities. And as far as I know, you can't use nested virtualization. Kind regards |

Hello ChrisEmi. As you can check in the PLC ST-70 catalog, in page 784, "6ES7677-2SB42-0GB0" device is fully compatible with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC so as far as I know, there should be no problem with that update. However, I suggest you to keep project backups and licenses safe before doing the migration. You can check the mentioned information in the following link: Catalog ST 70: Products for Totally Integrated Automation-SIMATIC https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/es/en/view/ Best regards, |

Hi ChrisEmi, at the operating instructions "S7-1500 Software Controller CPU 1505SP (F/T/TF), CPU 1507S (F), CPU 1508S (F) Version 21.9" you will find the following system requirements for the Windows 10 operating system:
And at the technical data of the CPU 1505SP F, V21.9 you will find the following information according to the operating system: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB and 2019 LTSC. So in my opinion it should be possible to install on Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 as long as you are using at least V21.8. However, in addition, I would recommend contacting the support to clarify the compatibility. Kind regards |
