Defective ETP 200SP Module

Hi,

We had an issue with one of our ETP 200SP module. It shows that the hardware is defective and needs to be replaced.  However, we do not have the spare part at the moment. The defective module controls one emergency stop and it restricts the whole line from functioning. What is the simplest way to bypass/disable it temporarily so we could run the line until we could get a replacement module?

Ask the experts how to bypass a fail-safe module? Any expert should tell you that it is not allowed. A machine with a bypassed safety function must not be used for productive work. Unless the manufacturer's risk assessment says otherwise.

Contact Siemens for a replacement part.

the bypass topic already explained.

But you check if there is a new firmware version available for this module.
If yes, proceed the firmware update + power cycle.

After personal expierience this can help sometime with those "defective" errors.
