V20 AUTO (PID) + MANUAL (potentiometer)

AAnderr Regular Member Joined: 3/25/2021 Last visit: 10/30/2024 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am trying to make an application where we have 1 selector with three positions: - Automatic: The speed of the motor will be automatically regulated by a PID based on the analog input of a thermostat, with a fixed setpoint. - 0: Motor off. - Manual: The speed of the motor will be regulated with a potentiometer, independent of the PID. Could this functionality be achieved with the V20? I have thought about using the macro Cn009 but this would only be valid for the automatic operating mode. Thanks

Being the AUTO position receiving the signal from the temperature transmitter and sending a signal to the 0-10VDC Input, and the MANUAL position receiving the signal from the potentiometer and sending it to the same Input. Finally, position 0 to turn off.

Tractor Gold Expert Joined: 3/27/2008 Last visit: 10/28/2024 Posts: 1143 Rating: (142)	I have attached a file for setting the V20 for PI control, P304 to P1910, then selecting PI control for Macro Cn009. The settings for fixed frequency setpoint can be change for an analogue, id Fixed Frequency is not suitable. Parameter P704 is set to 99, this makes digital Input 4, available for selecting Manual or PI control. P2200, enables the PI controller, this is set to look at Digital Input 4 for a 'high', this 'high' enables the PI control. Also, see the 'notes' for useful PI settings to get the thing working.
