Hi folks, 

I want to inform you that the Industrial OS V2.1 is now pre-installed from factory on the eMMc of the IOT2050 Advanced (6ES7647-0BA00-1YA2). 

To work with the Industrial OS follow these steps:

1. Connect a monitor to the IOT2050
   1. Use a Display Port monitor with a DP cable
   2. If using e.g an HDMI monitor with an adapter, make sure you use an active adapter
   3. Alternative: Use a UART cable to establish a serial connection via putty
2. Connect a mouse and keyboard to the IOT2050
3. Power on the IOT2050
4. With the first boot, you will end up in a first setup to configure your system (if you see localhost login for a long time, try a reboot)
5. The first step of the configuration is about the ethernet interfaces. You can choose a static IP address for one interface and dhcp for the other one, for example.
   - eth0: X1P2
   - eth1: X1P1
6. For keyboard settings you are not sure about, just select the default entry.
7. The second last step (installing software) does currently not work without the "service stick". To get this service stick, please contact me via DM. 
8. In the last step choose Enable - the mel-setup then start automatically when a service stick is plugged
9. To be able to change the bootorder, you need the attached file. Unzip this and copy the file fw_env.config to /etc
10. The bootorder can then be changed with the command fw_setenv boot_targets mmc0 mmc1 usb0 usb1 usb2 (Change the order of the devices, depending on which order you want)
    - mmc0 = SD card
    - mmc1 = eMMc
    - usbx = USB slots

Does Industrial OS come with a GUI or is it text based? I see it's Debian.

 the Industrial OS comes without a GUI, but it can be installed manually.

Is there a way to boot from sd without making the first configuration?

What are the IP addresses of IOT250 before the first configuration?

(I try a static ip 192.168.200.1 on X1-P2 but it doesn't work)

I ask these questions because if an IOT2050 is installed on a machine it is impossible to connect a monitor or a FTDI cable.

Last question, is possible to order a IOT2050 Advanced without operation sistem ?

 - the only way to boot from SD without having the IOT2050 configured is to use a UART cable to establish a serial connection. With that you can enter the u-boot console and choose from which device you want to boot.

- There are no predefined IP addresses. You need to set them with the first configuration. 
This 192.168.200.1 is the default IP only for the Example Image, not for Industrial OS

- You can perform the first setup as well with a serial connection via UART cable, if you don't want to plug in a monitor

- No, there is no way to order the IOT2050 without the Industrial OS..

I just tested the installation of software part again with the service stick and it worked! 

So if you want to install the software listed in the last step of the first setup, please contact me and I will provide the service stick image. 

In the last step of the setup (Enable Autostart) please choose Enable. When this is done you only need to plug an USB stick with the service stick image on it and the mel-setup start automatically. 

You can then go to Software and choose the required packages to be installed!

So there is no need to re-install the pre-installed IndOS image.
