For who is still struggling with this library:

• Try using 0 (zero) as hwID.
• The manual of this librarystates this library is meant for S7-1500 PLC's, but I got HTTPS-connections working on a S7-1200 (1212C, firmware v4.4.1).
• If you are using this to send messages to an API, it might be necessary to edit the library to change the headers. I had to change "Accept: text/html" to "Accept: application/json".
• If you use HTTPS, you need to add certificates, which you can do after protecting the project with a password. Instructions are in the manual.
