No output from PID

whateverman Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello, I am a student and working on a regulation with two containers of water, one which are to heat up the water and at a chosen temperature, a pump is supposed to start and pump the water up to the other container. My problem is that when i put in a PID for the level regulation I do not get any output from the PID, I set my setpoint to 50%, and my input is at about 40%, I use the Input_PER, therefore i go directly from my ultrasonic meter, and my output is also _PER so i go directly to my pump, but my pump does not get any signal, I have tried changing my setpoint, but that does not change my output. Thanks in advance for any help!

Because the PID loop needs a certain time to respond to changes of the control value, do not calculate the output value in every cycle. Do not execute the PID instruction in the main program cycle OB (such as OB 1). Regards, Marcjan

I'm not really sure where to find this Also, today I was not able to download to device, because my PID was out of date, where can I update this?

My PID is in a cyclic OB (Main_1[OB123] Because the PID loop needs a certain time to respond to changes of the control value, do not calculate the output value in every cycle. Do not execute the PID instruction in the main program cycle OB (such as OB 1). This should be ok if I execute it in another OB which is called Main_1[OB123]? Regards, Marcjan

I can't seem to find the force to 0%. Ex. Technology Object> PID compact> Configuration> Basic Setting > (default) General \| to change measurment type

Hello, For checking if a PID Compact controller is in manual mode , You have option of enabling ""REG1".ManualEnable" and select a value to ""REG1".ManualValue".REG1 is the name of data block storing data of controller.See the attachment.
