Hi,

is it possible to run nodered within a docker container and still use gpio?
On nodered's official docs I found this guide for Raspberry Pi but this is not RPI :)

Hi there,

as described in the instructions linked by bergmanu, the NodeRED modules of the example image can be included. However, in order to be able to use them in a Docker container, we also need to implement the local version of MRAA modified for the IOT2050.

We are currently working on a container image that we could make available in the future. Please have a look at the following snippet from a Dockerfile, which could provide you with a basis. Here, the building process draws on the required resources of an IOT2050 with Exampe Image.

please take a look at the attachment. There you will find, based on the example image v1.1, the patch files from the usr folder. Please unpack the files in your workspace folder and build the Dockerfile in the directory where you unpacked the archive.

As base image we recommend Ubuntu 20.04:

FROM ubuntu:20.04

At this point, note that you must have NodeJS v12.x installed. The NodeRED extension node-red-node-intel-gpio requires this NodeJS version and a corresponding NodeRED installation.

Note: In the meantime, the IOT2050 has been implemented as an official MRAA platform

thanks for the response. Can you please explain where can I find the example image v1.1?
If you mean the Dockerfile posted by you in this thread, I've already tried the steps, but with no luck.
