Hello PatrikStar, yes, you can Which PCS 7 version do you use? If you are using PCS 7 with a versionsmaller version 8, you have to use the Drive ES PCS 7 library. This library provides driver blocks incl. faceplates for the SINAMICS drives. But the faceplates are in the PCS 7 standard look and feel. If you want to have APL faceplates, a workaround is available. You combine the Drive ES driver block with the APL motor block and use the APL faceplates of the APL motor block. This is described in the SINAMICS manual. If you want to have ready for use CFC tenplates, parameter lists and a detailed describtion, you can download the documentation "Configuration of SINAMICS and MICROMASETR Drives with Drive ES in PCS 7" http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/58007228 If you are using PCS7 V8, you have a second possibility to integrate SINAMICS and other drives in PCS 7.In this version, Siemens provides universalAPL driver blocks. With these blocks you don't need the Drive ES library. Regards |

Hello PatrikStar, in the APL V8.0 you can find the FbDrive. It is a channel block for the integration of compact drives in PCS 7 V8. The block integrates any compact drive which is using the PROFIdrive profile. Regards |

One topic I forgot. I am not sure which version of PCS 7 we like to use. I need to decide between V7.1 SP 3 and V8. |

Regarding your decision which version you should use: I would prefer the newest PCS 7 version especially for the drives integration. In this case you havn't buy the Drive ES library, you safe money and you have the same APL look and feel without additional engineering. Regards |
