Hello Jackcaress, Please check below points. 1. Please check the limit switch operation (which operates & your axis starts to move in opposite direction) is correct, its element, mounting, connection etc. etc. 2. Please check the tightness of dog which operates limit switch. Sometimes looseness in dog causes variation in limit switch operation which results in problem in repeatability of axis reference point. 3. Please also confirm if motor encoder or external encoder feedback system is active. Please confirm this point as explained in postDeactivate axis on 840d sl, reply no 7. Also after referencing in DIAGNOSIS > PLC status check DB3x.DBX60.4 or 60.5. The bit which state displays as 1 confirms which system is effective for referencing. Accordingly you may check for any mechanical issue. e.g. if linear scale is active then please check the mounting screws, bracket of reader head of scale. If motor encoder is active, please check any mechanical issues in gear transmission etc. etc. HTH. |

HelloJackcaress, From the motor name plate user can find out which type of encoder system is mounted inside motor. Z option code letter explains type of encoder system installed. Please refer attached sheet for more detail information. Further more check axis MD 30240 value, it will help you to find out type of encoder configured for actual value positioning. Also after referencing in diagnosis page, check DB3x.DBX60.4 or 60.5 bit status, which is 1. e.g. if DBx.DBX60.4 = 1 motor encoder is active for referencing or if DBx.DBX60.5 = 1 external scale is active for referencing. Also I suggest you to check axis motor encoder cable connection - is it to 611A drive or to ADI module. From your earlier Deactivate axis on 840d sl post, PLC back up which you have attached, I presume it is the same machine. If it is so, the DB correspondence to your axis are as below. DB31 - X1 axis DB32 - Y1 axis DB33 - Z1 axis DB34 - C1 axis DB35 - A1 axis DB36 - X2 axis Since your A & C axis has active motor encoder system, you need to check how referencing is activated or check is your motor has absolute encoder.
So please confirm if my assumption is true. Your X1, Y1, Z1 & X2 axes has external encoder/scale system & axes A & C has only motor encoder system. If axis MD 30240 =0 it means it is simulation mode since drive & controller has no any communication over bus. The external scales/encoder comunicates with NC controller via profibus thru ADI module. NC controller sends set point to analog drives, analog drive feeds servo motor appropriate voltage & axis motor speed feedback is sent to drive via motor encoder where as axis motion position feedback is sent to controller by external scales on profibus via ADI module. Hope this helps you to understand basic set up of NC controller, analog axes drives, motors & encoder, scale feedback system. HTH. |
