Hi, so that means you have installed the IndOS with the Service Stick and it was not pre-installed? If so, you can plug the service stick in again and the setup occurs - if you have enabled autostart in the last step of the initial setup. For installing a Desktop environment, you can follow this instruction. Just tested that with lxde. You can add your user to the sudoers groupt like this
But therefor you either need to be root or have a user with sudo rights.. If you disbaled the sudo rights for your user during the first setup AND forgot the root password (which you have set in the first setup as well) then there is no other way than re-installing the OS. Best regards! |

Hi, okay, so it is the pre-installed one. You can call the setup with mel-setup, but installing software does not work here (I don't know yet why). So probably the best way is to install the Industrial OS from the Service Stick, because installing software from the setup works here - please send a DM to me. To boot from this stick you need to change the boot order as described here. I hope you are able to copy the file to /etc without root priviledges. If not you can try to add a new user via mel-setup -> User and enable sudo for this user. You are then hopefully able to copy the file to /etc. Best regards!
