Building a characterizer function block in a Step 7 300 PLC

Unfortunately, there may be a problem with sematics. I referred to my requested block as a Characterizer (function generator). The library provided includes several Signal Generators, including the GEN_SIN you specified, but no characterizers. The characterizer functionality I need provides a means of programming a curve of output values related to a curve of input vlaues. IE. for any value on the input curve (X), the output is calculated from a matching point on a second curve (Y). Other manufacturers' mathematical characterizers utilize the slope equation: y=mx+b. Such examples can be found in the Siemens M353 Loop controller or Procidia. They are offered as standard function blocks also in Siemens APACS, also known as Linear Characterizers. hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 10/26/2024 Posts: 6852 Rating: (1365)	Dear jayhart , If you want to implement a nonlinear F(x,y) function with a peice-wise linear method,you can use "NONLIN" form modular PID control package.(check section 2.1.16). Also you can find some similar functions in "Mathematical functions" in OSCAT library. Best regards, Hamid Hosseini
