I'm having an issue with user administration in SIMATIC WinCC Unified Runtime (V20 Upd2), and I'm hoping someone can clarify if I'm doing something wrong.

The Problem:

As you can see in the first image, when I start my project simulation, the "Local user management" status in the Runtime Manager settings is initially empty. As a result, any attempt to log in on the HMI simulation fails with the error, "Incorrect name or password. Try entering your credentials again."

My Workaround:

I've found a manual process to fix this, which I spent a whole day figuring out:

1. In the Runtime Manager settings, under the "User management" tab, I have to click the "Start local user management" button (as shown in image 2).
2. I get a warning that "This operation overwrites the current UMC users with the ones from the selected project." I click OK.
3. After this, the status changes to "Local user management running" (as shown in image 3), and my users from the project are successfully transferred. I can then log in to the HMI simulation without any issues.

My Question:

Having to do this manually every time I load the project seems inefficient. It would be much better if the local users were loaded automatically when the project runtime starts.

Am I missing a setting somewhere, or is this the standard procedure? It feels like I must be doing something wrong for this to be a required manual step each time.

Hi Not that it help, but i am facing the same problem, it was working fine under SR1 in runtime but since upd. 2 cant login anymore.

i am waiting for siemens support to give me a solution
