Migrate WinCC Professional project to WinCC Unified.

I have a few questions: What is the best way to transfer tags from WinCC Professional to WinCC Unified? Are there any tools to automate the migration, or does everything need to be done manually? How can I migrate graphical screens? Is there any conversion option, or do I have to rebuild everything from scratch? What should I do with VBS/C scripts? Any recommendations for rewriting them in JavaScript? Are there any official Siemens guides or documentation that can help with this process? I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences from those who have done a similar migration. Thanks!

Unfortunately I have not performed a migration as such but I can tell you (in answer to questions 2 and 5) that there is currently no documentation and no program available to perform the migration. About the other questions I could not tell you but surely it would be necessary to reconfigure everything from scratch since both platforms work in different ways. I hope someone can shed more light on the other questions you ask. Best regards!

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/12/2025 Posts: 16409 Rating: (1935)	Hello Evgen_bond There is only the Data2Unified Tool for automized migration but this is only from Comfort to unified Comfort and noch usable with WinCC Professional RT. I would say you can only use all kind of export/import functionalities in TIA Portal for transfering one system to the other or perhaps some copy and Paste works. I think in case of faceplates and screens you have to do a reengineering, also there is no automatism to convert from C/VB to Javascript. Bye Murof
